Roos went 2-0 while throwing consecutive complete game shutouts in the circle to help Northwestern defeat both Mississippi Valley State and Southeast Missouri State at the ULM Mardi Gras Classic hosted by Louisiana-Monroe.
Against Mississippi Valley, the senior from Celina, Texas, struck out eight hitters while not allowing a run on four hits and two walks. Roos followed that performance up with a 10-strikeout shutout of Southeast Missouri in which she only surrendered three hits and three walks.
She was honorable mention All-Southland Conference last season, and was a 2011 Academic All-Southland selection along with making the 2011 All-Louisiana team.
NSU (2-1) will take part in the Bulldog Battle at Mississippi State beginning on Friday when they face off with Western Kentucky at two o'clock.
The first home competition for Northwestern will be March 1-3 in the Natchitoches Historic Lady Demon Classic.
