Offensive Player of the Week – Jill Ivy- Stephen F. Austin
The Ladyjacks got a great week from Jill Ivy, who led SFA to a trio of wins and helped them maintain its status as the lone Southland Conference team with an unscathed record. The sophomore averaged 3.92 kills per set for the week, hitting at a .326 clip to up her season average to 3.11 kills per set for the year. She opened the week with an 18-kill, two-block outing in a five-set win over Sam Houston State. Ivy then followed that up by hitting .333 with 10 kills and five blocks in a sweep of McNeese State. She then closed out the week with a 19-kill, five-block match in a four-set win over Lamar, hitting .375 in the process.
Keelie Arneson was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week for the second time (9/10) in the 2012 season. The sophomore from Tomball, Texas played in all 12 sets over the week and chipped in with four aces and 13 assists as the Lady Demon’s have won five in a row. Arneson had a great week defensively, digging up 29 balls in NSU’s five-set win over Lamar and 23 while defeating of AMCC.
