Northwestern State University’s online bachelor’s degree program in psychology has been rated as a Best Buy by the website GetEducated.com. The rankings are compiled every two years. NSU, which was ranked at 23rd, has been included in the ratings since 2009.

The GetEducated.com Best Buy affordable online degree rankings are based on a national survey of 55 regionally accredited universities that offer 99 different online bachelor’s degree programs in psychology, human services, social work and the social sciences.

“Northwestern State is glad to continue being ranked as a Best Buy among online bachelor’s programs in psychology,” said Dr. Darlene Williams, vice president for technology, research and economic development. “The faculty in the Department of Psychology have created and maintained an outstanding program that meets the needs of our students. It is gratifying to have a national organization recognize the quality of the program.”

To appear on the list, the online degree profiled must objectively cost less than the average of all the online degrees reviewed in the comprehensive national data set.

Northwestern State’s online bachelor’s program in psychology is projected to cost about $8,500 less than the average cost of an online psychology bachelor’s degree, according to the survey.

A Get Educated “Best Online Colleges” affordability ranking indicates an online bachelor’s program has been independently reviewed, compared to its peers in a comprehensive national survey and found to offer one of the best values in online undergraduate education for psychology students nationwide.
