Senior Jordan Palmer of the Northwestern State softball team earned All-Regional Team honors at the 2013 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional tournament hosted by LSU May 17-19.

The Lady Demons (40-15) dropped games to Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday and Central Connecticut State on Saturday to end their run in the double-elimination tournament.

Palmer recorded the only hit for NSU in the second inning of Friday’s match-up with the Ragin’ Cajuns, and followed with a one-for-three performance on Saturday. The Joshua, Texas native also marked the only scoring attempt for the Lady Demons against Louisiana-Lafayette in the fifth inning.

Cali Burke stepped up to the plate with Shenequia Abby and Palmer on second and third with one out.

Burke laid down a sacrifice bunt in an attempt to put a runner across the plate, but Palmer was tagged out on the quick throw to home from pitcher Jordan Wallace.

Palmer finished the 2013 season appearing in all 55 games, hitting .202 with 26 hits including two doubles, six RBI and completing four-for-six stolen base attempts.
