Summer camp will teach acting, singing and dancing lessons to children at NSU, July 31

Northwestern State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will offer a summer theatre camp for children age 8-13 that will include acting, singing and dancing.  The camp will be held from noon-5 p.m. July 31-Aug. 7.  Class will not be held Sunday, Aug. 4.  Participants will audition, rehearse and perform an original musical, “The Toymaker’s Heart.”  Performances for the public will be Aug. 8-10.

 The cost of the camp is $180 per student or $150 per sibling, which includes snacks. Registration and a $25 deposit are due July 17.  Full payment is due the first day of camp.

“The Toymaker’s Heart” is based on a book and lyrics by Timothy Callais and will be performed in Theatre West. Admission is $3.
