The Natchitoches Humane Society is raffling a dog house. Tickets are available at Bank of Montgomery on Washington Street and are $3 a ticket or $5 for two tickets. The Natchitoches Area Jaycees made plenty of  civic impact, with help from the community, at Tuesday night’s Northwestern State-Louisiana Tech basketball game in Prather Coliseum. From left are Vic the Demon, Kyle Barnard, Chase Snyder, Alan Pasch, Jason Stelly, Dane Terrell and son, Josh Manuel, NSU athletic director Greg Burke, Dr. Steve Boyd and daughter, Billy Gray and daughter, Ryan Todtenbier, Dr. William Luster and Eddie Harrington. The Jaycees presented a $4,000 check to support the Demon basketball program generated by an October fundraiser. Fans attending the game contributed  100 toys to be distributed to youth in Natchitoches Parish by the Jaycees. The M.A.S.H. Toy Drive is this Saturday in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

The NSU Demon ROTC Battalion Car and Bike Show raised funds for the Natchitoches Parish Veterans and Memorial Park project and provided a contribution of both money and support services to the committee for a Gold Level Sponsorship.  AJ Johnson, committee co-chair, presented Cadet Battalion Commander Terrell Murdock and LTC Macky Underwood with a Certificate of Support, and “Honoring Our Veterans” pins along with the thanks of the Committee for their s contribution to park construction.  Co-committee co-chair Bob Gillan noted that all prior service ROTC cadets, staff, and alumni of the program are eligible to purchase a Memory Brick paver for the park with their name, rank, branch of service, dates of service, as well as highest valor medal.  From left are Johnson, Murdock and Underwood.  For more information on sponsorships and Memory Brick pavers visit http://www.natchitocheschamber.com/pages/NatchitochesVeteransPark1/ or call Grant Bowden at 318-357-3106.
