Northwestern State University Grounds Horticulturist Gary Nolley talked to about 70 members of the NSU Elementary Lab School running club Thursday about trees on the Northwestern State campus. Northwestern State has been a member of Tree Campus USA for several years. Sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, this program encourages schools to be actively involved in preservation, protection and education about trees on college campuses. The youngsters joined Nolley in planting and mulching the tree, a purple-blooming vitex, near the campus walking trail.
