Honduran quartet to perform Monday

The Guifiti String Quartet will present a recital of music by Handel/Halvorsen and Dvorak Monday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

Members of the quartet include Northwestern State University students violinists Roman Carranza and Emilio Castro, violist Marcel Fernandez and cellist Milovan Paz. The students are from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and study in the studios of Northwestern State faculty Dr. Andrej Kurti and Paul Christopher. They perform with the Texarkana, Acadiana, Rapides and Marshall symphonies.
