Natchitoches Parish students in kindergarten through the fifth grade participated in the two-hour field trip, accompanied by their teachers.
“We had a blast,” said Bradley Dale Peveto, the Demons’ head coach, and proud father of two elementary school age children. “These kids have fun in the purest sense of the word. They were very excited and so were our coaches and players. We love doing this each May.”
The participants enjoyed going through drills and getting fundamental instruction from Northwestern coaches and players. They experienced non-contact segments teaching the following fundamentals: stretching and conditioning, running, passing, receiving, ballhandling skills, blocking and form tackling.
As part of the community outreach efforts of the Demon Football Program, the Youth Football Experience provided participants with opportunities to develop and improve their football skills in a fun, safe and enjoyable atmosphere. This is the fourth year for the event.
