The partnership includes Demon Sports Network play-by-play broadcast coverage of NSU football along with a weekly 15-minute sports show to air from late August through the end of football season, and other special programming through the year.
News Radio 710 KEEL provides a 50,000-watt nighttime broadcast signal with 5,000 watts during daytime hours. It is operated by Townsquare Media.
“Northwestern State is pleased to partner with KEEL Radio, a mainstay in the Shreveport-Bossier market and well beyond, for Demon Sports Network broadcasts of football and additional programming,” said NSU director of athletics Greg Burke. “This partnership represents one of many points of emphases implemented in a market which is so important to NSU based on a strong and active alumni base and on the university’s nationally renowned School of Nursing.”
The News Radio 710 KEEL coverage will kick off with a 15-minute NSU football preview in late August before the 2012 football season begins Sept. 1 with the Demons visiting Texas Tech.
