The Demons will open the season at Texas Tech Sept. 1 before hosting Arkansas-Monticello on Sept. 8 in the 2012 home opener. Additional highlights to the home schedule include Heroes Day on Oct. 6 when Lamar visits, Homecoming on Oct. 27 as Nicholls comes to Turpin Stadium, and the regular-season home finale against 2011 NCAA Division I FCS runner-up Sam Houston State on Nov. 10. All home games are slated for 6 p.m. kickoffs.
The Demons head into the season with four seniors on the College Football Performance Awards watch list: linebacker Derek Rose, safety Jamaal White, punter Nic Russo and kicker John Shaughnessy. Rose, a two-time All-American, also makes his second consecutive appearance on the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List.
With strong season ticket and tailgating space sales this summer, plans are underway for an exciting opening day at Turpin Stadium. With festive tailgating, Vic’s Kids’ Zone complete with inflatable games and face painting, the annual Purple Out and a team of skydivers expected to deliver the game ball, the Arkansas-Monticello game will feature fun and exciting activities for fans of all ages.
Reserved chairback seats are available for all five games in Turpin Stadium for just $20. General admission seating is available for $13 for adults and $10 for youth ages 15 and under. Also returning for the 2012 season is the opportunity for NSU students to purchase one guest ticket per game for $10. Season tickets remain available.
