The Lady Demons (4-5) have lost four straight to three teams that made it to the NCAA tournament last season (Oklahoma, Prairie View A&M, and Arkansas) and one that has won four of it's last six (Houston). Oklahoma and Arkansas are ranked among nation's top 25 in various polls.
Mississippi State (6-5) holds a 2-0 all-time series lead against NSU winning 99-76 in 1998 and 99-75 in 2008. MSU will be the third SEC team that the Lady Demons have faced this season losing to the Razorbacks 80-41 and Ole Miss 67-51.
The Lady Bulldogs will be the last non-conference team NSU faces before opening league play at home with McNeese Jan. 3 at 5:30 and Lamar Jan. 5.
Jasmine Upchurch is the team leader in points (11.1) and rebounds (5.8) per game for the Lady Demons. Janelle Perez averages 10.2 points and Jasmine Bradley averages 5.6 rebounds a contest.
Mississippi State's Kendra Grant averages 14 points a game and Martha Alwal grabs 9.2 boards a game.
