Registration for the summer and fall semesters will soon begin at Northwestern State University and the best way for students to get the classes they need is to start the process early.

Northwestern State students can begin the registration procedure by meeting with their advisor beginning March 25. They can begin signing up for summer and fall classes starting Monday, April 8.

With the new system, registration is actually two parts—advising which will begin March 25 and registration which will begin April 8,” said Dr. Lisa Abney, provost and vice president for academic and student affairs.  “With our former system, advisors often entered courses for students.  Now students enter their courses and pick the times for them on their own through NSU Connect.

“Early registration is essential for students—especially for those who need upper level courses.  If students wait to register for a class, it may be cancelled for low enrollment during the summer, so it’s important that students get enrolled before they leave for the summer.”

Students who register between April 8 and May 19 will be eligible to win a weekly drawing for a $25 gift card. Seven winners will be selected from among those students who have registered for the summer or fall semester. For more information on summer and fall registration at Northwestern State, go to
