Dudley singled up the middle to open the ninth inning for the Warhawks (10-15) and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Brandon Alexander. The go-ahead run advanced to third base on a wild pitch, Brewer walked Ryan Bergeron, and then threw another wild pitch to score Dudley.
Walks were a problem for the Demons (9-18), who lost their 10th game in a row Tuesday night. The NSU pitching staff gave out five free passes, and two of those turned into runs.
ULM scored first in the third inning, and added another run in the fifth before NSU charged in the fifth to grab a 3-2 lead. The Warhawks regained the lead in the seventh inning with two runs, and NSU tied it up in their half of the frame.
Ashton Sivigliano started the game and pitched five innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits, four walks, and four strikeouts. Cameron Brewer (0-2) took the loss on one inning, and gave up one run on one hit and a walk.
The Demons went through five pitchers, including Logan Shaftner, A.J. Funk, Steven Spann who all combined for three innings of work, four hits and two runs.
Tyler Bray (2-1) got the win for ULM on 1.2 innings pitched with three walks and two strikeouts. Chirsto Jones (1) took the save in the ninth inning with one strikeout.
Regan Kaufman got his first start on Tuesday and was one-for-three.
The Demons will return to action on the road for a Thursday, Friday, Saturday series at McNeese State for their second conference series. The first game will be Thursday at 6:30 .
