Name:  Linda Copple

Title:  Assistant professor, coordinator of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program

Education:  Master of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State and Master of Business Administration from Centenary College

Years at Northwestern State: 15

Job Description: Major responsibilities include guiding, directing and coordinating the activities of the BSN program under the supervision of the department head and dean. I am responsible for ongoing curriculum evaluation, faculty performance appraisals, ensuring that the program meets applicable standards and communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Why I like working at NSU:  I have had the pleasure of working at Northwestern State University College of Nursing and Allied Health in Shreveport since 1988. I began teaching in the BSN program as an adjunct faculty and joined the College of Nursing and Allied Health as full-time faculty in 2001. I enjoy the highly professional and collegial environment, but most of all I enjoy the interaction with students.  Students are what we are all about.  All that I do is focused towards student success. When I see the “light” of understanding or am able to calm an anxious student, I have had a good day.  My career as an educator is all about student advocacy. The NSU faculty, support staff and administration make it possible for me to do so through their on-going support of the nursing programs.
