Brooke Eastburg scored her first career goal in the 48th minute to tie the match, but Somer Anderson scored 28 minutes later to give the Louisiana-Monroe a lead that finished with a 3-1 win over the Northwestern State soccer team Sunday afternoon.

The Warhawks (3-4-0) opened the scoring in the second half with a goal from Jenna Pillon (7) in the 48th minute on a cross from Haley Rodriguez from about 16 yards out on the left side. Thirty-nine seconds later, Eastburg answered for NSU (1-5-0) on an unassisted goal that got by ULM goalkeeper Holly Mallinson.

"We always talk about good teams being able win on Friday, but great teams win on Sunday,” said head coach George Van Linder. “We need to do better as a team. We had some good individual performances, but all of us were disappointed about our team effort."

Anderson (1) scored the game-winner in the 76th minute on an assist by Mary Ashton Lembo to the front of the goal.

Jessica Danku started the match for NSU in goal and saved four shots, including a penalty kick in the first half.

“Jessica Danku saved a penalty kick today, Camila(Ardila) continues to make more and more of an impact on the game, and Shelby Balmer has been a warrior in the air for us,” said Van Linder. “I know those three inspire the team and our level will confine to rise."
