Dr. Norann Planchock, who served as Dean of Northwestern State University’s College of Nursing and Allied Health, was feted by friends, family, colleagues and former students with two retirement celebrations and named Dean Emerita, honoring her years of leadership to the College, its students and healthcare in the region.
Planchock arrived at Northwestern State in 1977 and served as dean since 1999.
During her tenure, the college expanded its undergraduate and graduate concentrations in nursing, radiologic technology and allied health and became a recognized leader in non-traditional delivery of coursework.
Planchock was also effective in seeking grants, partnerships and private funding for programs.
