Northwestern State University’s Director of Service Learning Steve Gruesbeck will chair this year’s Keep Louisiana Beautiful annual conference in Baton Rouge Sept. 19-20.

This year’s conference is titled “Driving Sustainability…for Another Ten Years.”

This is the tenth year that KLB has funded programs that help Louisiana communities become healthier, cleaner and more beautiful.

“A major focus of this year’s conference is ‘green’ initiatives on college campuses,” Gruesbeck said. “These include the sorts of recycling, community clean-ups and water-way clean-ups in which NSU and the other UL System schools have been involved. KLB is invested in encouraging the young people of our state, from elementary school through college, to do their part towards keeping Louisiana beautiful.”

Gruesbeck will serve as a panel facilitator on a number of topics.

Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne will be keynote speaker during the conference awards lunch at the Old Governor’s Mansion Sept. 19.
